Damer & Cartwright Specialty Pharmacy

Damer & Cartwright Pharmacy was founded in 1941 as a provider of traditional pharmacy services.  From 1941-1980, Damer & Cartwright operated in this manner, with a special focus on compounded medications.

In 1980, Damer & Cartwright was purchased by Mike Brown.  From 1980-1990, Mike continued to provide the services that had made Damer & Cartwright successful, while expanding into several new fields.  These areas included preparation of chemotherapy, nutritional supplements, and compounding of special prescriptions.

In 1991, Damer & Cartwright expanded its capabilities to include specialty services for fertility and oncology prescriptions.  The new specialty services included free delivery on all orders, financial/health insurance counseling, accepting assignment of major medical prescription claims, offering patient assistance in obtaining indigent services, and pre-filling syringes for injectable medications.  These services formed the basis of Damer & Cartwright’s specialty prescription program. 

In 1995, Damer & Cartwright expanded its specialty pharmacy capabilities and staff.  Furthermore, Damer & Cartwright expanded marketing to the areas of dialysis and bone marrow transplant.

From 1995-1998 Damer & Cartwright continued to grow in the areas of oncology, bone marrow transplant, fertility, and dialysis.  Furthermore, the services offered by Damer & Cartwright expanded to offer follow up services to ensure patient compliance and lab reviews.  In 1998 Damer & Cartwright also began marketing in a new specialty area, hepatology. 

In 1999, Damer & Cartwright again expanded its services to several new disease states.  These included solid organ transplant and rheumatoid arthritis.

As we entered a new millennium, Damer & Cartwright saw an opportunity to continue the growth that we had experienced over the past decade.  From 2000-2002, additional staff was added to guarantee that we were able to continue to provide our patients with “old fashioned” personal service that had made us successful.  Our new staff also allowed us to expand our geographic coverage area.  By the end of 2002, Damer & Cartwright’s specialty services had expanded to treating hundreds of patients in more than ten states.

Today, Damer & Cartwright is a nationally recognized model for specialty pharmacy.  We have expanded our marketing reach to include account representatives covering physician offices, hospitals, and managed care organizations.  We continue to expand our services and sales to better serve our patients.
